Short Bio
Julie Colehour is a partner at C+C, a 100-person social marketing agency. Julie has spent her career working to motivate people to alter their behaviors for social good in the areas of the environment, safety and public health. Julie has supported EPA’s ENERGY STAR program for the past 24 years, including co-authoring the original national launch plan which led to 41 percent national awareness of ENERGY STAR in just three years. More recently she has supported the Washington State Department of Health with COVID communications around protective behaviors, WA Notify and the Vaccine. These campaigns are part of the puzzle that has helped Washington have one of the lowest COVID-19 death rates in the nation. She is frequently called upon to speak or conduct trainings about social marketing at venues across the country. Julie is a co-author with Philip Kotler and Nancy Lee for the 7th edition of the Social Marketing: Behavior Change for Good undergraduate textbook (Sage publishing, 2022), and is co-author of the social marketing chapter in the Be the Change textbook for public health students (Oxford Publishing, 2022). She is a board member of the Pacific Northwest Social Marketing Association.
